Well guys, I finally got a hold of my very first Emerson (CQC-15 dated 2013) and I have to admit to falling in love with it as soon as I held it in my hands. This thing is a beast of a knife, that's the only way I can describe it and it feels great in my hand. It seems like I'm probably done for as I've been hooked (or is it waved around here? :D).

Another one understands:thumbup: Congrats. P.S. Rolf i think you should put "You need a 7" as your sig or something;)

I have the Benchmade/Emerson collab 975 (Super cqc7) and it goes everywhere with me. Rock solid knives any way you look at it. I feel they are the original hard use knives.

Hard use for sure, though I'm a mechanic by trade so some of my knives see 'above average use', so sturdy is a good thing. The lock up on my came insanely sticky (to the point that I had to use a caped ball point pin to release it a few times), but now that I've opened it via the wave all of that seems to have worked itself out. Normal?

That's a great knife man. It's definitely one of my favorites.

I have the Mini 15. Great knife - like having a Commander 7. Congrats

hey man I want to buy a Emerson knife. but i wanted to know if the knifes are worth the money and has this knife ever failed? I have a spyderco endura and a Benchmade Griptilian how would a Emerson compare to these knifes?

No, this knife hasn't failed on me yet, nor do I expect it to. It locks up like a bank vault and yes, these knives are well worth the money. As far as comparing the CQC-15 to an Endura or a Griptilian, it's not the best one as their intended use is vastly different, though I do use my Emerson as an EDC blade. You'll find it to be much heavier in your pocket than these knives. A knife like the Emerson Mini-Commander would probably make for a better comparison. That being said, Emerson's are wonderful knives from what I've seen so far and I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Great choice for a first Emerson. I have a CQC-15 BTS on the way myself..... and a CQC-14 BTS..... and a Mini Commander BTS..... and a Mini A-100..... and I'm tempted to add a SOCFK BTS.....

I'm already looking at an Endeavor, Gentleman Jim and a Commander. On that note, anyone have any side by side pictures of a CQC-15 and a Commander and perhaps a side by side of an Endeavor and CQC-15?

Some are and others are somewhere in the middle. A V grind with a chisel edge (only sharpened on one side).
