I purchased a Super CQC7 for a great price.
I am more impressed than I thought I would be. I can see which company had a ton of influence on many Cold Steel designs.
As advertised, it really does feel like a tough, sharp tool/weapon. It is definitely not a "looker" like the awesome Manix XL, but fit and finish doesn't really seem to be a relevant thing to dwell on with this knife. I love the strong lock-up and the long handle. This would be a great back-up knife to deploy with.
One minor criticism: The handle slabs/back spacer seem to attract lint and fibers like crazy. The only way I was able to make some progress was with Scotch tape.
I ran an oily Q-tip through the liners and half the Q-tip cotton stuck to the inside of the (rubbery?)back spacer. It took me 15 minutes to remove the cotton with tweezers and tape.
I have cleaned many different folders, and have never experienced this before.
What do you recommend when cleaning?

Congratulations on your first Emerson. The Super CQC-7 model is a very tough and durable knife and should serve you well for years to come. As far as cleaning, HERE is a link to a thread on cleaning the G10.

Congrats on your first. The 7 is a timeless design. Just got in a waveless yesterday and it instantly kicked out my s110v cf native. Haven't seen it since as a matter a fact lol.

Congratulations... and welcome to the subforum. To clean the inside of my Emersons, I blow them out with canned air first, then run a dry shop rag through the open knife handle. That's all mine get. I don't even clean off / change the lube that Emerson puts on them. Don't really care if mine are ball bearing smooth. I like 'em the way Ernie sells 'em.

These are technically my first since both haven't arrived yet. I have always liked Emerson by the way they look and especially the wave opening.

The Karambit has a custom frame lock and wave opening and it's just a beautiful piece. Bought off a gentleman. Off of this great site. I will edc this everyday.

The next is the Commando serrated SFS. Sorry it's not my picture neither have came in yet but these are my first. Love to here what you guys have to say about them. I seen the sign up for supporting and before posting nothing and being a troll I wanted to pick up a few. I really love their style their totally badass.

Love to here feed back on the knives I have bought since I have no experience with them. All my thanks has to go to Charlie Mike he got me into them and I just want to be apart of this sub forum because indo not collect folders only Kershaw but I gave that up for.my expensive Bali habit so any info will be great hope you guys like them and hope I made the right choices. Enjoy thank you for having me here.

Those are great first Emersons! The Commander, not commando, is my favorite Emerson design. Its a classic and is just as useful in the EDC role as it is in a combat role. It's hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like you bought a Super Commander, which is bigger than the standard model. I don't own a Karambit but I have a friend very big into martial arts that carries one everywhere 24/7.

The super 7 is on my list. I have heard nothing but good things about them. Now to decide on plain edge or half and half. Suggestions? I primarily will use for EDC so I am thinking half and half.

Congrats and good choice--I bought mine for a great price too. Have fun using it... A lot!

Guys thank you I have been waiting to post something in this sub forum. My good friend Charlie Mike has got me into different knives other then my bali addiction.

I edc to many fully illegal knives so these 2 are going to be my daily edc. I carry a Bali a limited dark angel and my big ass axd 5.5 so these two will be just as serious for work related things and also if the people I work want any problems well both are waved and ready. I do think want to sound cruel but I work in some of the worst parts of NYC. So I usually go fully prepared now with the commando will work great for work use and quick action. The karambit will be a great piece to carry and both are great for defense if needed.

Thank you for your guys opinion I have always collected of corse my balis but I always collected Kershaw and I just needed to step up. So as of now and it will probably stay like this with getting these Emersons. They seem to be the perfect folder for all that is needed for work like defense so I think within a few months I should have a hole knife holder full of them and my protechs.

Thank you very much I also got great deals from people on here for like these two and I would just like to say thank you to the 2 guys that have me awesome deals. Also you guys are very helpful and welcoming thank you for that.

Congrats on your first Emerson. I found out that the addiction is real though. Two years ago I was in the camp that was skeptical about the cost/value ratio for Emerson knives. I really liked the designs, but wasn't a huge fan of the price. Once I finally got one, I realized what the attraction was. I quickly went from having one to three within the first month. Now I have over a half dozen with more on my list of "need" to own knives. I still own and buy from other makers, but my Emersons always find their way back into my pocket. It's a sickness. I'm an Emersonaholic.

I here you and great story. As a huge Bali buyer what I always bought were Kershaw. So I needed more advanced and more of some higher class so now it's all protech and Emerson as of now and I really don't sell my stuff. Will buy Kershaw only Damascus tho now after getting these

There's one folder in my eyes it's one of a kind with only 5 maybe less built and the maker has the others my Matt cook customers folder. It's just such a grail in my eyes.
