My Esee Candiru came in today, and though I have not had a good chance to use it yet, I will give my first impressions. First, it appears to be a nice thin light knife. Out of box sharpness was decent, but not quite what I was expecting, though it shaved cleanly with a few passes. Mainly though, the sheath is really a let down. For a knife that seems designed as a necker, it needs to come with a kydex sheath.

In conclusion, I look forward to using and getting to know this Esee.

What kind of sheath did it come with?

Not quite what I would consider traditional, but then again I don't know much.:D

It came with what I believe they call a cordura sheath. It is an insert in a nylon pouch with a flap that goes over the knife to secure it. I plan on getting a Godspeed taco sheath when my next paycheck comes in.

As for "traditional and fixed blades" I figure it is a fixed blade so this must be where it belongs.

Dang that sheath does sound like it lacks versatility. I do prefer a taco sheath on a small fixed blade that way it still can go anywhere on a belt and fits nicely in a pocket.
