My first ESEE

I've been lingering around bladeforums for a while and lately the ESEE forum and decided to see how I'd like an ESEE blade.

I purchased an ESEE-4 on Tuesday and it arrived yesterday and I have since fallen in love with it. The fit and finish of the knife is amazing and I was skeptical about the Desert Tan at first but I really like my choice now. It's heavier than what I expected even knowing the specs but it feels great in my hand. The blade is a bit thicker and wider then what I imagined as well but it feels like a tank in hand and I have no doubts it would do great in the field. Hopefully I get a chance to take it hiking this weekend paired up with my BK-9 or Trail Master and see what it can handle. After buying this blade I now plan to get a Junglas and get my wife and I each an Izula. I carry a couple knives as part of my EDC and I think the ESEE-4 is going to take the spot of my Mini Hunter.

I tried taking a couple pictures for now but my Blackberry doesn't have the greatest camera.

Appreciate the post and for being here on the forum!

very nice! i find that the esee-4 is the perfect size to go along with a big chopper. mounted with a paracord on my belt, there are times when i easily forget it's even there.

After much thought, I also chose desert tan for my RC-4. I thought really hard about orange, but ended up thinking the DT would blend with my pack (I'm a khacki gear guy). I love the DT RC-4 and feel it's pretty loss-proof (resistant) with the addition of a colorful lanyard. Does anyone else wonder why ESEE puts orange slabs on a green blade? Seems they would really stand out and look great on a DT blade. Just my 2 cents.

I saw this at my local pawn shop. It's a real steal but I picked up something else. Hopefully it is still there when I get my paycheck.
