Hello people,

I perchased a karambit commander and a CQC-7 karambit, now these are indeed superb knives but my problem is comes in 3 forms, the first is the apparant friction between blade and liners when deploying the blade by hand in comparison to my earlier buys (CQC-7 mini and production combat karambit, the blade feels well smooth on deploy). My 2nd is the grind at the point of these knifes has not been finnished (its round and not at a point) the 3rd is the fact that if i deploy the blade using the wave i then need a hydrolic press to disengage the lock !!

I love my Emerson knives and they are my regular use and carry tools but the problems i have with my new pieces unfortunatly means they get left behind, this is a shame because they are begging to be used !!!

any responce with solutions or just a confurmation would be appreciated

i agree for the grind probs send it back to EKI, but for the liner sticking just take a #2 pencil and rub the back of the blade were the liner engages, this lubes it and makes it not stick, have had to do this to several of mine when new/using wave to open/inertia opening...........

Hey people,

thanks for the advice. These are all problems that can be fixed i know ! but this is not what i expect from EKI, my previous Emersons were faultless so maby i was lucky and gave my self an unrealistic benchmark,

I believe that the matte black finnish on my new knives is why they feel jerky on deploy in comparison to the older ones, the lock was annoying but as stated some lube helped, but its not quite there yet,
but i will say there is no excuse for the grind quality, yes yes i can send it back for fixing but that not what i want to have to do for a knife that cost that much and comes from a company with the attatced reputation (which is deserved) I presume these knives were churned out to meet demand but they should still meet the high standards we all expect from Ernie.

The G10 scales have less of a curve on the edges aswell this is less comfortable in MY hand and is less work for who ever shapes the scales, i know im just on a rant now but none of these points cant be disputed,

I remain disappointed ! :(
