I just got my first FB off the used market... This has turned out to be a grail knife for me in hindsight! The handle is perfect, and the blade design is exactly what I like. Is is wrong to want some kydex for this?

Congrats, sweet looking knife. My Hiking Buddy is one of my all time favorite knives. It's a great size for doing a lot of things. I am going to be getting a saber ground one in the future. I have looked at mine a lot of times and thought about kydex, so since it is your knife and it is burlap micarta I don't see where kydex would be wrong, but if that is one of Andy's sheaths I wouldn't let it get away, those are getting rare these days.

Nice! Welcome aboard. Nudes isn't a sin. In fact tho, I did make that sheath.

I thought that that was a Heber (wildmanh) sheath. If that is one of Andys sheaths I will buy you a kydex sheath and you can send me that one! Just let me know. I dont own a HB yet but it will probably be my next one or the one after that I aint quit decided yet. But nice snag for sure.

Dang - You beat me to it. I was going to offer the same :D

Nice nice Turt

Wow, thanks for all the nice comments and offers! I'd like to keep the leather sheath too as it fits nicely in my pocket. Didn't realize this sheath was so coveted! Thanks for letting us know who made it Andy. I feel like such a FBF noob haha.

Well since you are going to keep it I'll let the cat outta the bag. Andy hates to do leather and he says (I still aint sure I believe him) that it takes him as long to do a sheath as it does a knife. SO he dont do many if any at all as of late. So yea a few of us would probably give you a pretty penny for it if you decide to sell.

Yep, one of the reasons I prize the Bushfinger so much...the very first Bushfinger and perhaps in one of Andy's last sheaths lol.

I'm making a few right now though.

This is a great knife... it is the most expensive one that I own and I'm still thinking I got a good deal on it! A close friend renamed it from the HB to the TLB (Tough Lil Booger). I wonder if it will stick...

01 steel claims another user. Really all I do is ride the coattails of knife users and 01 steel. If you're a user, you need to check out 01

Lol, I imagine the 5/32 ones really are tough little boogers, and I'm definitely getting one at some point...but I think I'll stick to calling it a Hiking Buddy, that really is what the one I have now is.
