Hello,
I finished my hydraulic press like a month ago, and in the test run I forged a little feather blade, first one I did.
It took me some time but I just finished the knife and wanted to share it with you guys:

That's a beautiful damascus pattern for sure and I like the way it repeats in the guard. Very well done.

Two things, though: 1) I'd like to see a slightly longer guard, and 2) porportions are difficult if not impossible to judge on photos alone - particularly when shot on an angle - but that's either a very long blade or a kinda shortish handle - again, just going by the pics. Posting dimensions when you show new work helps people better understand what they are seeing.

Thank you all for your comments.
Roger, thanks for the feedback, you might be right on the length of the guard.
Dimensions are: Blade length: 14 cm (5,5"). Handle length, including guard: 11 cm (4,3"). If I had to choose I'd say the handle is a bit short.

Not seeing the Sendero styling, but impressive fit/finish, never the less.
Your feather pattern is very well executed. I always like seeing the spine of the feather following the centerline of the blade as opposed to wandering all over. It demonstrates control.

The guard lug is a little short for my taste, but I prefer it to being too long which is often the case on hunters.

Overall, you did well!

Very nice. Is it an integral? Looks to be because the feather is right on between the guard and blade. -Burton Harruff
