Picked up my first fighter this week and let me say i'm impressed! After seeing so many fighters and bowies, I knew they were my kind of knife. I watched the for sale section for a few weeks to keep an eye on the knives that came up for sale. I've seen Ken's other knives before and always thought they looked wonderful. When the Bubinga Fighter came up for sale I mulled over it for a couple hours and when I realized it was still there I had to jump on it.
I present to you the Ken Hall Bubinga Fighter:
Specs:
Forged 1095 steel with temper/hamon line.
Knife dimensions:
Overall length – 13.75 inches
Blade length – 8.75 inches
Blade width – 1.5 inches
Handle – Stabilized Bubinga
Guard – Nickel Silver
Sheath - Handmade sheath, made from 8-9 ounce vegetable tanned leather.
Grind – Flat grind with convex edge
Finish – 400 grit hand sanded

The Bubinga is exquisite. It is shaped beautifully and fits the hand wonderfully. The most surprising aspect of it is the weight. From the size of it you would think it is much heavier than it is. As a fighter it is just about the right weight. Balance is great too. Just in front of the guard. It's a big knife! Big, but just right! I have relatively large hands to give an idea of the size. One thing you can't see in these photos is the subtle hamon on the blade.

The sheath is very well done. Can be carried on the belt or IWB with the stud keeping it secure.

I've compared it in size to my khukuri which has a 10.5" blade, Hogue 3.5" EDC and Buck 119 with a 6" blade.

I am proud to own this particular fighter. For the price I paid it has exceeded my expectations greatly. I haven't cut anything with it except a piece of paper. I plan to hone it's edge a bit more on a leather strop hopefully till it's hair popping sharp. As it is I definitely wouldn't want to get cut with it. My conclusion: An excellent design, quality fit and finish, and just supurb overall package. A great addition to anyones collection.
