Here is a couple pics of my file knife made from a Nicolson 10' inch file that was tempered down to the mid 50's mid 60's rockwell. I hope you guys like it and there are many more to come, and this was ground by hand no jigs but I do have a jig like CJS knives .

That looks like it could handle just about anything! When I first started, I made several jigs after watching the CJS video. I now freehand, but I owe my first knife grinds to those jigs!

Not bad, kinda reminds me of charlie mike's creations.

Is the handle wood or synthetic?

Did you make the sheath too?

Good work for a first.

You might want to smooth out the handle a bit. Those angles can wreak havoc on your hands while using it, especially in the cold.

Be sure to post your next project.

Thanks guys, and the handle material is homade paper micarta. I am going to sand those edges down I just wanted to get my pictures up because Michael morris told me to put them up so he can see how I am doing. Now this knife is my EDC and my first knife so I am going to keep this one and sell my other ones when they are finished. I dot some other cool designs that I thought of and will post pics of them on paper to show how they look and flow for knifes. And Yes I did make my own sheath .

Nice work all around but kudos on the sheath and the micarta. Those are on my list of things to figure out still.

Ryanol the micarta on my knife is made from black construction paper and fiberglass resin, And it is pretty simple to make a sheath out of leather. I mean I was lucky and my father allready had tools and supplies for leather so its simple if you know what you want to make . I am hoping to get all my other knives made next week and post them, and those will be for sale .

Good work. Looks like my first. Keep it.

I am going to keep it and I have learned alot of tips from this knife and hope to post some designs soon . And if anyone is interested let me know.
