My name is Charlie Edmondson and I live in Alexander city,Al. I got into knife making about a year ago and this forum was where I got alot of my information on how to make knives with the help of Will Leavitt. I know I have a long long way to go, but I figured since I used alot of the information people post on this site I would show what I was able to come up with. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place with my forging and met Will and he invited me down to forge with him and spent all day showing me different things and usually answers a ton of questions I have every week, so I am very greatful to have met him and really appreciate all his help, and I appreciate all the wonderful information you guys post, SO here she is forged 5160 burl and purpleheart

Very nice job Charlie, did you skip right over stock removal and go straight for forging?A very impressive first knife or 5th or 8th for that matter--Regards Butch

I never really thought about stock removal for some reason, I just got a anvil a bunch of hammers and started trying to make a knife and had many many failed attempts, Then I got on the right path and started taking my time and learning about hardening, tempering so on and produced a good knife finally,LOL Thank you very much for your compliment

It took me many many attempts to make one look anything like that. Congrats to a great looking knife!

Very nice work, that looks well made and useful. Congrats on the first of many!

I'd happily take that into the woods with me. Nice work

Loving that blade shape. Nice work!

Charlie's a great guy and works hard at improving. He understands knives and he's working hard on the skills (pretty damn quick too) that's a combination for success.

Charlie, I'm just passing on what was taught to me and you know how much I enjoy having someone over that really loves knives.

That is extremely impressive for a first knife, Charlie. You ought to be dang proud of your achievement (and having finished my first knife not too long ago, I have a feeling you are feeling pretty good about your accomplishment!)

That is a fantastic looking knife. Forget that its your first. Very good work!

Thank everyone for the nice comments, All this has really made my day, Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Charlie

Great first knife! Don't give it away. Don't sell it. Keep it. If you don't keep it, you'll regret it later.
