Hi ,
Just want to share my first completely finished knife,
The blade is 22 layers of 1095 and 15n20, yes only 22 layers because my wife was ready to kill me just after the first fold, so I didn't take my chances with the second one….
Handle is zebrawood, pin and guard from K&G.
The fit and finish is pretty bad, but I like this knife anyway.
I think I made a mistake to include my rifle in the picture, so please focus on the knife…

Thanks for looking

I think that you have done a fine job, it is one to be proud of. Especially your first.
I like the zebrawood and pin placement, nice and pointy too.And now I know what 22 layers look like,I can't believe it's your first.

Well, this is the first that I completed with the wood handle and no flaws in the billet.
All others attempts have no handle or have flaws or both

Truely incredible first knife!
I like the lower number of layers better than the higher numbers of layers!
Excellent job!

Very,Very nice work !! That is the first time I have seen zebra wood up close,it almost looks like a synthetic material.Nice looking stuff too,and like leatherbird,I also love the single pin placement.Very classy looking package!!

That's a fantastic first knife! Takes huevos to start pounding damascus right off the bat too. ;) Keep it up and thanks for sharing,

That's great! How many scrappers did you make before that one? I can't believe these guys, like Sean, that jump straight to making their own damascus. Plain steel? Who needs stinking plain steel?!

Great first knife!
you made your first knife from damascus!?
I made mine from a piece of mild steel that I sharpened. the thing was like a razor, but would dull if I cut Jell-O with it.
nice job!

Thanks to all of you for kind words!
I am damascus-addict, and I can confirm that this is an serious mental disorder. :)
So my next project is to try to make a billet of Bulat (Russian word for wootz) .
I will post a picture if I can get something to make a picture of….
