My First Fix

You know how this knife thing gets into your blood...man I got it bad and I need a fix every day! My wife thinks I'm crazy.... Oh well, If it makes me happy. Well anyway, This is my first knife....comments, suggestions.

Thanks for the compliments guys. It's going to be hard to part with. I've got a picture of my newest batch of micarta. I'm going to put it on a 9 inch blade tanto.

Thanks Guys,
I make my micarta from Walmart!! Thats where I bought my material from.....I layered three different colors trying to simulate mokume. I was looking for the copper, nickel, steel and carbon colors. My resin seems to have cancelled out most of my copper color so I'll need to try something else. Layer your resin between the colors, give it a good twist, and press it. When you grind, you get awesome layering with the material. Kind of simular to damascus steel. Hope that answers your questions.

Thanks for the kudos everyone. I have a horrible tendency to be a perfectionist. I'm a carpenter to pay my bills. I want to make knives to fulfill the artist and dreamer in me. Right now one serves the other. I'm finishing up on a tanto right now and will post that with some of my new micarta probably this weekend.....Franco

I'm almost finished with my new tanto from my newest micarta. I have to finish detailing it but here is the best picture I can get so far. I need to build a light box so I can get better detail...sorry for the clarity.....Franco
