On October 2nd, I sent an e-mail to our own Brian Goode (blgoode) and asked him if he could make a knife for me. Using some other knives from his site, I did a rough photoshop and sent a picture of what I wanted to him.

5 months later, after a lot of communication, design changes, and waiting, I got my knife. I tore open the package tube and stripped off the seemingly neverending newspaper. I anxiously pulled the knife out of its kydex sheath and I have to say that it's easily the most beautiful knife I've ever laid my eyes on. My money had more than paid off, and although I've only had it for less than 24 hours, I couldn't be happier. First off, it feels like a solid chunk of material painted different colors, as the fit and finish is great. The knife fits perfectly into the sheath, and the edge is sharper than my out of the box Delica or Griptilian. Enough, here are the pictures!:

As for the maker:

Brian was awesome during the whole process. This was my first custom knife order, so I was obviously new to the process. I changed my mind so much that I'm surprised I didn't get something completely different than I wanted. He kept me updated, sent me pictures of my baby in her beginning stages, helped me to decide on stuff, and we even just shot a few non-knife e-mails back and forth. Brian is a really great guy, and I'd highly reccommend him if you're looking for a fixed blade.

That looks excellent. Brians work is awesome, look forward to getting a knife or ten from him very soon.

Brian is going to support me when I get old :)

Just kidding B-

Brian is a "maker to watch" in the future. If we can just get hime to start forging........

That is a very nice looking knife. A very functional design. Brian is putting out some really great looking knives, an given the amount of real world testing he does with them (see his site and his posts here) I would expect them to perform as well as they look.

You guys are too kind!! Mark - you mean support you NOW that you are old :D

Forging soon.......If I can find the time to build my da** forge and get an anvil :p

The happy users are worth all the work! Thats an understatement. Making knives has been the most rewarding thing I have done.

Playing music with an independant record lable, painting, sculpting....this tops them all :D :D

Brian I think you have another satisfied customer! :D It's great when a maker will take the time to make sure his customer gets what he really wants. I've noticed that you go out of the way in that regard, and it will always pay off for everyone.

Congratulations on your first custom knife order NeedleRemorse! That must feel very good. Brian made you a very nice knife - I know you'll make everyone happy if you can put it to work! But I know how hard that is to do... :D

NeedleRemorse, you picked a great guy and knifemaker to buy from. I think Brian is a shooting star on his way up. That's a great looking knife and I know it will serve you well.
Scott

Man, I really liked how this handle came out Needle! One of my sleeker ones to say the least ;)

Brian definitely knows how to build a knife! There isn't one I have seen in person or in pictures that doesn't have mojo.
