Haven't been very active on the forums, bunch of life got in the way and I've been working on stuff. Thought I'd share my first folder. I guess I've made 400 drawings, 75 patterns and this is what won the "I got made" lottery. 1095 blade and spring, nickle silver liner bolster and pins. Blade is bronze bushed, belt finish with stabilized maple burl scale. There's a few things I need to improve but I'd like the opinions of the guys here. Comments and criticism welcome. Thanks for looking.

I like it, Will. Very nice indeed for a first folder! How did the walk and talk work out?

Moves like a factory folder... meh :( I pinched it a bit while pinning so I'm going to make a bushing hone to size them to prevent the line pinching. I'll lap the pivot and bushing next time. Two biggest mechanical issues I see. It opens, it closes and it stays closed so I'll accept that as a starting point ;) About to start one with stainless fittings because I'm out of nickle silver.

good to have you back man :)

Thank you Lorien. Found you a Charlie Brown Christmas tree yet? Never too early to start looking for a bedraggled conifer. :D

Not bad at all for your first!

If you really get into them, Slipjoint buyers are goin to want SS bolsters and liners.

Don, thanks a bunch! Next one will be dressed in stainless can't decide if I'll just mill out an Intergral or do bolster/liner construction.

I've actually been collecting them :) Lots of my favourite kind of yardwork to do, just waiting on some implements....

It's good to see you back, Will. Like Don said, it ain't bad at all for your first. And as far as milled vs. not, I'd say go with whatever's easier. Ken Erickson mills, Tony Bose solders. You can't go wrong either way.

Make more, Will.
I still have my Leu kwkn with a Leu, Hartsfield and Leavitt hemp wrapped handle.
