I was scheduled to go down and spend some quality time with Bing this summer after Blade to do a folder class. It was going to be fun to take the class, but spending time with my friend was the best part. It was really hard news when I heard from John Doyle that our friend passed away. During some of our conversations, we talked about the class and long story short, I ended up taking a trip to see him for some quality time this summer. I learned a whole lot and was curious if I could come up with one in my shop, without his help. Thankfully, it all worked out. I'd seen one of Raphael Durand's knives and loved it. I contacted him and he was gracious enough to let me make this one based on his design. It's nowhere near as good as his knives, but I'm thankful for his generosity.

Blade is 80CrV2 with a little bit of time in some ferric chloride riding on bronze washers
.060 Ti liners with some orange peel texture
Natural micarta scales

I tried to keep everything pretty basic on my first build; I wanted to get the mechanics all right rather than focus on extra parts (bolsters, pivot screw collars, etc.). Lots little things to do better on the next knives, but I learned a whole lot. Any thoughts are welcome.
