No doubt liner locks are just great for smoothness, low number of parts and sheer lightness in the overall package. However, I totally botching 4 other knives in a row, and no amount of correction or modification would get them right. This is the only liner lock that came out right. Its a PROTO.
O1 blade, single sided 1mm thick 410SS liner with jade green G10. The pivot pin is hand turned in a drill press and hand-threaded and tapped. (Not as hard as it sounds.) I did up one side in a Peter Herbst-inspired styling with some white correction fluid !!! and the other side is a more conventional "holey" pattern - gives the fingers somewhere to grab onto when opening the blade. Inset in the thumbstud is a cubic zirconia I salvaged from some of my wife's old costume jewellery.
I'mm happy with it, but liner locks just don't seem to work out for me right now. I'll keep at it when I have some time. Thanks for letting me ramble (again). Cheers. Jason.
