I am an axe man through and through but I've seen so many awesome 'hawks on the forum so I figured I'd give it a bashuploadfromtaptalk1394945943751.jpg........

Missouri River brand bought at Cabelas. Wire brushed the head to get rid of the crappy black finish then belt sand the edge and tighten up with the mill bastard followed by the Lansky and a 1500 grit strop. I intended on cold bluing the head but thought it looked good the way it was. Sanded the haft....One coat of Minwax honey color and two B.L.O. rubs. Add about 22' of camo paracord and this is the final product.

How did I do?

You did good brother! I like the adding of paracord, but wonder if that wouldnt make you blister instantly with a few swings. I've looked at the Missouri's before and wondered if it was a decent head.
If you do decide to blue it, post a pic!
Saw a hawk that had a forced mustard patina on it...kinda useless but sure pretty.
