I have had it for about 6 days now, and took pictures when I found the camera yesterday. It was a bit bigger than I expected but I like it. The handles are Blue Oyster acrylic and it is #34 of 50. The pull is definitely a nail mangler, not quite a nail breaker. I love the swedges and grinds, cut hair in an explosive manner right out of the box. I have formed a bit of a patina so far on the clip and sheepsfoot blades, from apples, chicken, steak, and grapes (to form the patina, I don't cut grapes normally). The wrapping for the knife was an amusing surprise, as I had never heard anyone say anything about stickers on the paper in the tube, but I won't say anything that might ruin the surprise.

My girlfriend pointed out that there is a heart on this side's scale, I think it's quite fitting as I love this knife.

Thank you for looking,
Connor

I love the cigar patterns. I am glad GEC started making their springs a little lighter. :)

Great knife. Very comfortable to use and you've got an appropriate blade for pretty much any situation.

I saw pics of this when you first said you were going to buy it. Almost bought one as well (didn't, but now on my wish list). I'm not usually much on acrylic handled traditionals, but this one...gorgeous.

Enjoy! :)

Congrats on a great pattern, Connor. It's my favorite, and the blue oyster is one of the best looking acrylics they make.

I really like the Cuban. Yours is simply beautiful. I normally don't care for for many of the acrylics, but the blue oyster is stunning. What a great choice for your first GEC. I sincerely hope that you'll enjoy it and that it will serve you well.

Very nice. The #53/#54 pattern from GEC is the most useful that I've found during my limited time in the slipjoint world.

Very unique in the blue! I kind of like it! Congrats on your first GEC. They're outstanding and addicting. :)

I've never even looked twice at the Oyster Acrylic but I will now - just beautiful!

Thanks for sharing the pics.

The #53 Cuban is a great pattern with its 3" ffg muskrat clip blade and low riding sheepsfoot even if you never use the spey blade. Great looking acrylic too, I hope GEC uses it some more!!
