So im not huge on traditional knives, but i respect them and would like to buy a few. I've got a couple of Case Knives already, plus a Buck 110 and a Mercator. So that basically leaves a GEC or two to grab.

Question is, which one should i get? Preferably under a hundred dollars.

At this moment in time, you're limited to what you can get, not necessarily what you want. If it's not available directly from a dealer, you're limited to what pops up on the secondary market. And when it comes to the secondary market, you can expect mark-ups. Best bet for an honest price is our own Exchange forum. They'll gouge you on eBay.

I really like the 15. They are medium sized (under 3½" closed) with 1 or 2 blades. Most seem to be priced under $100.

It's difficult to recommend a pattern without knowing some of your preferences so I'll just recommend my favorite GEC. Like many of us who frequent this sub forum, I've owned several GEC patterns. The one that hits my sweet spot and has seen more pocket time than any of the others is the #35 Churchill in my avatar.

I've seen 1 or 2 on The Exchange in which the seller stated that the pattern just wasn't their cup of tea but most people who have bought Churchills seem to like them a lot. I've been wanting a Maroon Micarta for some time. I should just go ahead and get one so I can stop saying that.

Ebony, Maroon Micarta, and Cougar Clawed Bone are all below your price limit and still available at dealers.

Here's a pic of my Ebony.

A Schatt & Morgan Reverse Gunstock Stockman, a Boker Trapper, a Bulldog Cuttin Horse, a Eye Brand Half Congress, a German Hen & Rooster Stockman, a Queen Congress, a Weidmannsheil Folding Hunter, and a GEC Churchill. Those are my recommendations ;)

The only GEC I've got is a 73. I like it so much I'm actually considering getting the single blade model, the contours on the handle fit my hand perfectly.

Wow, lots of good recommendations here, thanks guys. I'll take a look at all of these.

And to answer the preference question, i dont have many when it comes to traditionals. The only thing is that i dont really like small ones.

The 71 Bullnose are out now.

I just got one in red micarta and it really is perfect.

Churchill. And maybe a back up. :)

I'm gonna third the #35 Churchill. Hard to find a more pocket friendly, versatile, and all around awesome traditional than that knife, and it's available for low to mid $90s at dealers.

Another vote for a Churchill. With a bellied clip blade and a straight-edged sheepfoot blade it is almost universally useful. A nice medium size (3¾" closed) makes it both slim in the pocket and long enough for most all jobs. And the 1095 steel patinas nicely.
