Its like a giant peanut. Its small but feels great in the hand, i'm looking forward to dirtying it up a bit.

Nice picture -what a great pocket knife!
I got mine just over a week ago and I can't seem to leave it at home! Perfect size, handle material, and the lines of it flow beautifully.
Congrats on yours.

Yep, that #56 is a great one. If its you're pattern then you should be aware that GEC said they are going to make a few with a Spear main... Below is taken from one of their dealer's sites.

Pattern: #56 Tidioute Spear / Pen Bare End
Variation: Glitter Gold (Qty 50)

Pattern: #56 Northfield Spear / Pen Bare End
Variation: Ebony Wood (Qty 50)
Variation: Bone? (Qty 50)
Variation: Burnt Stag (Qty 50)

Nice choice Triq! I am carrying a #56 in ebony in my pocket right now. :D
Definitely my favorite GEC and maybe my favorite slipjoint.

That one will improve with age too, very good carry:thumbup:

2Dead, I've got my glad-eye on those Spears:D But, I'll only believe it when they're out. After all, they were talking of a spear Lockback months ago, I've yet to see one:eek:

Oh! Holy! Crap!

This pattern is nagging at me too.

Time to start savin' my pennies for one of those bad boys with a spear point in ebony.

P.S. This will probably not be your last GEC. This brand is addictive. Although, I wouldn't say that it's a bad problem to have. At any rate, it looks like you picked a good one.

The ebony looks really nice. Has anyone had a problem with the wood cracking? Some ebony isn't stable and could crack.
