My first good knives.

I just took a trip down to WalMart to see if my local one had the Native. They did! So I got one.

They also have Buck 110s for $20 bucks! So I got one.

They also had Kershaw Leeks and some Buck fixed blades I wanted, but I didn't have enough money. Oh well, I'll go back after payday.

I wanted to get a good lockback (110), linerlock, fixed, butterfly, and true switchblade before getting another good knife of the same type (to start my collection off with variety), but the 110 was so cheap, and I really wanted the Native. Oh well, I'll just get non-lockbacks when I get my next check.

My Native gets some clear liquid on the blade whenever I close it. That is to say, whenever I open it, there is some clear liquid on the blade. If I wipe it off, it comes back after I close it again. Is this normal? Perhaps lube for the joint?

Both knives are FAR sharper than my junkers. The difference is very noticable.

I have to leave for work in 30 minutes (I work overnight at a newspaper), so I can't wait to bring one (or both) with me.

For those of you that didn't see my other thread: I've bought junker knives for many years because I thought knives were cool, but since I didn't use them much on a daily basis, I never thought about getting anything good. A few months ago I started working at a newspaper which requires me to use a knife nearly daily. And since it is a graveyard shift and I take my lunch across the street at 7-11 in a bad neighborhood, I always want a knife on me for SD just in case. This got me more serious about knives, so I have been planning on getting some decent knives and expanding my collection away from the junkers.

You got yourself a couple of good ones. I have had a 110 for 40 years, and it is still going strong.

It sounds like your knife has an over abundance of lubricant. Not something I would worry myself about if I were you.

Thanks. Every time I wipe it off, the amount next time is less, so I think the excess will be gone soon.
