My first handmade Tomahawk

That looks like a solid 'hawk. Very nice. Have you thrown it yet? Better get a spare handle or two. I like that hammer/ flat spot on the back of the blade.

Hello!

Yes and it fly very well! The head axe is very strong, drop forged and differential tempered: it's an honest tool called "hachette de platrier" for french workers, made to resist when they break concrete blocks with it.
It's a cheap tool (only 17,34 Euros = 22 USD), but must be very robust for the hardworkers.
I have several, and they do very well the job when I throw them! I have also a Spike Tomahawk made by Bill Keeler, but I can't resolve me to throw an hawk at 180 dollars...
I wanted to have a Renegade tomahawk and a VTAC, but after christmas my money tends to fly like my hawks! So I have decided to make my own axe, but with a poll axe. I'll making one with a spike.

Here's a pic : http://www.crude-forged-knives.com/Tomahawk_OK/ori01.jpg

You can find it here (in France sorry) : http://www.castorama.fr/boutique/sku/sku.jhtml?elementId=Casto263976&productId=CastoSol2020

Thank you for your feedback gentlemen! I love this forum! We don't have such forum in France...

Thanks for the info, you did a good job on that head. Looks like it would be a fun project.

I don't know the head weigh SuPeRTaRD. The head axe is strongly fixed to the handle with pressure + epoxy. I will giving you the total weigh of the head + handle. I don't know how and with what, but I will giving you it.
