Here is my first handmade knife. I have learned alot on here the past week reading and posting questions. How ever i want to let every one see my first production. I made this knife with just some carbon steel i had. I used a drill press, run of the mill stick welder, and a chop saw. I dont know where the inspireation came from on the blade shape. however i had different ideas on the handel however that changed halfway through the build after drooling over the stuff that horton builds. i really liked makeing it. and with this being my first one please reserve negitive comments. thanks hope you like it

I can't wait to make my first knife. I should be getting a nice piece of steel shortly.
Good for you man!

You should see my first knife! Congratulations on making your first, we all did. Keep it and watch out that you don't get hooked on knife making too hard, it is incurable.

Way to go Man Sometimes Just getting started is the hard part And you did that.

Good first knife. I tell people starting is the easy part, finishing is the hard part. Come join us in the "shoptalk" forum!!!!

the blade looks a little funny because i used a file to shape it and the sanded with 400 so it didnt get the deep gouges but besides that it is pretty good for a fist attept im happy, how ever i plan to make leaps and bounds on my next, i dont know if you call it cheating but i am going to order a blank from great lakes waterjet i am going with the smooth operator in the d-2 tool steel and maybe carbon graphite grips. Thanks for all the encouragements. ANd ON that that thought i visited the World's largest knife museum today in sevierville, TN it was only 170 miles from my house. They had some really cool stuff. They had a case of knives by " ontario knife company" heres a link http://www.ontarioknife.com/adventure.html
the tak-1 d2 would have been my choice. however thanks for the comments
