Started with a piece of round 100 year old Wrought Iron courtesy of Karl Anderson (kbaknife). Used 5160 for the bit. Made a few mistakes. I made the bit a little too big and I was a little out of practice forge welding. But overall I'm happy with my first attempt. It's about 5 7/8" long and the edge is 2 1/2" The picture doesn't pick up the grain of the wrought iron, also I didn't do a very deep etch yet.

After some refining and a deeper etch. It's been a good learning experience!

Thanks for looking :D

Is it for sale? Looks great to me!
Thanks, This ones not for sale. A friend of mine latched on to it as soon as he saw it. I'll be making more as soon as I can find the time

I have never been able to get a forge weld to stick , so i have been slitting and drifting the eyes in my hawks.
I am gonna make a point of it this new year to make a forge welded wrapped hawk!
