Dang! This is a beast of a tool. I can see now the attraction to these blades and am planning on adding a few more. The handle is really HUGE so I sanded it down and it feels great now. Two things of note: the tang was protruding 1/16" beyond the handles on top and bottom creating a long hot spot; the pommel had an uneven shape. Is that normal? It's all good now after going through the belt sander.

The scales can shrink due to extreme changes in humidity from hot, wet Nepal, to hot, dry Reno. That's what causes the protruding metal.

All of my Chiruwa style handle had this happen to one extent or another.

Great first choice!!! It will spoil you as concern other Kukri's. I have purchased and used others and my favorite remains the M-43 bar none.

man I can hardly wait till my M-43 comes in! I ordered on the 18th and after all the good reviews im pretty excited. I know this sounds odd but I think that the anticipation is half the fun of getting the actual item heheheh.
