Well I finally pulled the trigger!!! My very first HI kukri, an 18" m43 is shipping out tomorrow and I can't WAIT! Just would like to hear from everyone what they're personal experiences were with this particular knife during use, as I honestly chose based on looks alone lol! Any input is very welcome!

Looks is really all that matters really. I don't have one myself (yet) but it's very popular and well thought of among kukri users. A work horse and an excellent start.

I certainly don't think you'll be disappointed in the least.

Well that M43 should be a great start to a New Year! Grats on a well praised blade. Wish I had one too! Hang on a few minutes and some will give you a hands on review im sure. The M43 ranks up in the top five for a first knife im pretty sure and I doubt youll be disappointed.

Holy smokes an 18" M43, well, all I can say, is it's a beast! It is a beauty, but don't let its looks fool you, she's a beastly chopper.

Here's my M43 by Lok kami - 18" 33oz

Looks is what i went by for my first, a Kami Thamar tin chirra. I have used it to split fire wood, clear brush, and vines. Still beautiful as when i first pulled it from the triangle box it came in.

I also dont have a M43 yet, but 15 HI kuks have honored me by making a home with me. I like the straight handle of my AK's and BDC for heavy chopping, similar to the M43. I like a big curve for looks, and ergonomics to hold. Swinging heavy and all day, your pinky will thank you for that straight handle.

Share some pics when you get her home please.
