I have always been intrigued by traditional Khukuri blades. Finally made the leap and picked up my first one. Thank you Yangdu
Great service and speedy delivery. Came shipped and in my hands in under a week from order.
15 inch 19 ounce villager fit and finish Ang Khola by Bhakta. Asare wood handle. All fittings are white metal.
I knew what I was getting ordering a villager blem. I was planning on using it hard so not much worry on minor blems. Plus I am the type that has no problem using a little sandpaper and files to do minor finishing work on my knives. I am very pleased with the fit and finish on my new khuk. Feels great in hand very comfortable with traditional grip. Feels like it was made for my hand. I wear xl gloves and the handle felt great.
First test some aged hardwood mesquite.
Some fine work and whittling. For a beast of a knife it handles very well.
Some smaller kindling made.
Size comparison next to my bk machax.
After some tough use I am very impressed by HI steel and heat treat. No rolls or chips on edges I have seen this same type of wood chip or fold CS choppers and other 1095 modern carbon steels.5 mins with sandpaper and stone sharpener good as new.
Overall HI has great service and an awesome product. I can't wait to take it out to the ranch and get to work. Thanks
