Hey guys-

Been lurking awhile and I finally ordered my first Khukuri. I drove myself crazy trying to decide what I wanted to buy first and I finally ordered a 15" Sirupati. I later received a very nice email from Yangdu stating the 15" was out of stock but I could have a 20" if I wanted - so I went for it.

Amazingly, I received it in 2 days from Nevada to Mass.(just got it today). I am thrilled and I just had to post about it.

It looks great and it feels amazing in my hand. :)

Sorry the pictures aren't great. I would love to know who made it if anyone knows from the markings.

The pictures don't do it justice. It is gorgeous. My only problem is that I am already trying to decide what to buy next. ;)

Awesome looking kukri! I just got my first kukri today as well. They are works of art

Thank you! Yours is a beauty as well, congratulations! - I have been following your thread. I agree - they are works of art. It is just amazing that they are also extremely functional tools as well.

Nice one, looks like a Kobra, light and fast. I think that Sher made it.

Cool! Thank you. I was thinking the "cho" looked different from the basic Sirupati. It does look like a Kobra. It is light(for it's size) and fast but it still feels substantial. I am loving it.

Yep I second Mr. Talls opinion. Looks like a 20" Kobra by Sher to me as well. Welcome to the forum gbh2. Beautiful blade! Thats some nice wood on that handle!

Mr. Tall is right as usual. Does indeed look like a Sher 20" Kobra. Sweeeeeet....

My oh my that is a dazzler. So slim and speedy looking, and I love that cho. Congratulations on an awesome blade gbh2. Are you addicted yet? You can tell if you are awake at 2am and hitting the refresh to see if there is a DotD you might be missing, oh wait...that is me ;)

Having started off with such a long quick blade, I think your next will probably have to be a chopper, but then perhaps you prefer the fast blades? There is no "wrong" next blade as long as it is an HI blade.

Thanks everyone! So the consensus seems to be that I have a 20" Kobra made by Sher - cool!

Yeah, I am definitely addicted. lol. Been checking out the DOTD for a couple of weeks but I have been working or sleeping every time they get posted so I am too late for them.

I do like a fast blade - but I like them all. Already thinking about a 15" Ang Khola or CAK OR a WW2 or M43 or maybe a BAS next. :)

I saw the picture you posted in the "First time Buyers Beware" thread. Wow, do they all look sweet!

Thank you. And mine is considered a modest little collection. There are some folks here with incredible collections.
The good news is that the common belief around here is that the blade finds the right owner. So I am sure your next blade is on a path that will put it where you can acquire it when it is the proper time. Auntie mixes up the DotD times pretty well so there is no telling. Suddenly you will be there and the blade will be there and poof your wallet will be thinner and your grin will be bigger. That is how it worked for me anyways so hang in there and don't get discouraged.
