My first hidden tang knife

My first hidden tang knife "Viking bastard" 14" overall 8" blade 1ounce silver coin guard custom cross draw sheath handle from a old axe and old Nicholson file for the blade I started by annealing the file to be able to drill the hole and shaped the blade quenched in used dirtbike oil temper for 2hrs at 425° twice ,still needs some work new to this just having some fun

did you use a silver dollar for the guard?
It is a 1 troy ounce silver coin .999 (generic brand you buy online) I planned to solder it on but don't have the stuff for that so I put it in the vise and used a small punch and peened it to the blade actually worked really good If I did it again would have notched the tang so it would slip on from the bottom like I said learned a few things with this one over all I'm happy with it think it looks like a worn in blade already I have a new project already in mind using old coil spring so I'll be back with something new soon take care
