So about a month ago i purchased my very first Hinderer XM18 and wow i cant believe how amazing this knife is! Ive owned a couple other custom knives but when i got the XM18 it put them to shame i have to say. The fit and finish is amazing and it can handle anything i throw at it plus i don't feel bad really using it for whatever i need it to do! I'm definitely going to have to purchase a few more this year to have a real stable going!

Im a sucker for anything in blue and love dogs so seeing this i naturally couldn't resist purchasing it!
Im curious to see what everyone else bought for their first hinderer and what they thought on first getting it!

GD that knife is way cool, glade you are enjoying it, great to have you among us, and thanks so much for sharing that picture, love it!

You found a great one! Looks awesome!

The first time I held a Hinderer I was instantly impressed with it's precision and toughness, as well as the ergonomics. It was ALL great! That's why we love 'em!

Unique XM for sure!! Glad you're putting it to some good use! Welcome to the Herd! Lots of great people with great info.

Thanks guys! I'm definitely going to be spending some time in this portion of the forum!

Awesome knife! I love dogs as well but I was only fortunate enough to pick up the standard xm-18 in the blue. I absolutely love it, my umnumzaan has seen absolutely zero pocket time since I have received the xm!

Again, nice snag! I like hearing that you aren't afraid to put it to use either

Always nice to see "New Faces" showing up..... Welcome to the RHK Forum. Good place to hang out

What took you so long to stop by and say hello?

Congrats on the XM. And by using your knife you may now join in the gratitude we get from those with safe queens. Assuming our users add value in some way to pristine dust collectors.

I personally give no "gratitude" towards users due to some of my "safe queens" I have "collecting dust".

I don't care what one does with your knife...collect it, take pictures of it, sell it, use it, barter it, dress animals, tie lanyards on it, change scales, whatever and honestly I am not sure why anyone would care how I do or don't use my knives. I have never heard or seen a single XM collector who has ever commented that they show "gratitude" towards those that use their knives. Then again, I don't believe users of production XMs are adding value to those collecting production XMs.

To the OP, welcome and enjoy your knife (however you go about doing that), congrats.

N2K can certainly speak for himself, but I think it is pretty fair to say fine quality craftsmanship is best enjoyed in use and I think that is all he meant. No one will ever tell you how to use or not use your stuff, but most agree that though use you gain a better respect for every aspect of what you are getting, or in this case at least.

Welcome GDCruz and that really is an exceptional Hinderer! I know lots of folks will be jealous of that one and that really is a keeper of a knife!

I think everyone can appreciate a knife in their own way! But as far as my knife goes it's exclusive to plaza cutlery a shop in southern California. They have a website you can find if you just Google them and occasionally will have some knives with dog paws on them!

GD love the dog paws! You not only have an outstanding knife, you also dealt with Dan who is an upfront guy. I met him at the a Plaza Show last year, he puts on a first rate show also! Welcome"

Yep, what one does with their possessions is up to them.

Knowing I'd never intentionally offend one of our own or member with a knife in their safe--it must be noted that my earlier words were typed to those looking in from the outside.

Whenever I read about someone saying they decided to "use this or that" my first thought is good on ya, they are designed to be used, not just looked at (applies far beyond knives).

The puppy paws are a neat touch, the fun thats been had with the laser always interests me.

To the Op...hope you join in the fun here and enjoy your knife.

Congrats on your acquisition! I gotta say that this forum has a really good, active group of people that share common interests (at least one:) ) that sometimes go beyond knives. I hope you enjoy your stay!
