I have been meaning to get a knife from Rick Hinderer for a year now.....Always ended up talking to him about other stuff until it was goobye time......We worked a trade at SHOT this year and I plan to give it a run around the woods this weekend......Moose, I hope will help me post pix....

.My friend John Benner of TDI fame has been singing Rick's praises for quite a while and I know how he tests folders and how critical he can be.......If John has unreserved praise for a folder, you can bet it won't fold up on you in a difficult social encounter.......

Initial impressions are that this thing is built like a cross between a Swiss watch and a German bank vault.....This thing is smooooooth.........Lots of clever thought went into this one and the fit and finish is first class......It ain't real shiny but it IS built.....It is smooooth.......All precision, all business......The attention to detail, like the clip placement is impressive, and the blade grind profiles are interesting and reflect Rick's work and experiences in emergency services....Do I sound impressed,if I do it is because I am......

Does it inspire you at all to maybe make your own folder ? We all certainly hope so, until then maybe a Hinderer may be in the cards for me.

Great stuff Mr. B! lookin forward to seeing some action photos. Maybe a BK&T folder in the future? You've got the hard-use,beat em up, chop it down market cornered if you ever decide to!

Now boss, you know the rules. Where's the pics!

yea, what he said! :D

Yah......

We keep talkin' about a folder........Really good folders made in the U.S.are pricey.......Hard to deliver good value to you guys.......I have hopes........if it happens it will probably be an import.........

Wow, just when I thought I talked myself out of an impulsive decision to drop a bunch of cash or trade away a knife I know that works for me to get a hinderer, you go and post very high praises. Thanks... I need to get a BK2 to go along with my BK9 first:)

BTW......I AM gonna learn to post pics without help.......Us old krauts learn slow......Remember I design stuff with NO moving parts....LOL........Soon come.....

I've eyeballed Hinderer's blades before, just passed for some reason. If you give it the nod I may have to give it a go. Maybe at Blade, since Moose assures me I'll go home broke anyway.

The Kershaw Cryo, is like a economy version of a Hinderer.
For those of us who dont have enough for a proper one..lol Call it an entry level Hinderer.

The Cryo II is coming and the ZT 0566 is another good option just above entry level pricing. :) Probably the only Hinderer designs I'll get my hands on for a loooong time.

Which model did you get, Boss?

Bossman, you're teasing us with the lack of pics! Moose, get on it! :D

Merged the threads.

List of stuff to do this weekend:

Fix double tap feature on iPad
take pics of knives and my camping out
post said pics from this weekend
teach e how to post pics

got it covered.
