Just posting up a few shots I took today.

OAL - 8-7/8", Contoured Green micarta handle with red liners
Blade - 4-1/4", cutting edge - 4-1/6", 5/32" thick blade with rounded spine

Initial thoughts: THIS KNIFE IS AWESOME. The fit and finish on this is great, it feels great in the hand, and will handle anything you throw at it. I have to admit, I am sucked into the current theme of "hard use" knives, which is why I went with the 5/32" blade. Honestly, I could have gotten the 1/8" blade and the knife would still be just as tough (I am glad I didn't do 3/16"). It takes a good edge with my poor sharpening skills and sharpmaker rods.
I was worried that the sheath would not be able to hold the knife in securely, but is does, and I actually appreciate the simplicity of it.
I have just played around in my yard with a few sticks, sharpening them to a point and trying my hand at feather sticks (which I didn't know about until I joined the forum). I am going to take it with me on my annual camping trips in April and May. I should produce some good user shots then along with a good review.

For now I am just posting a few comparison shots with the ESEE4, my old favorite fixed blade. I appreciate when people post comparison shots so I thought I would share mine.

Thanks John! I have my eye on the EDC next.

Welcome to the wonderful world of JK knives. It's one of the good addictions.
I like that blade. The red liners look great too. You are going to really love those micarta scales.

The best part of making knives is seeing people enjoying using them. Thanks for posting.

look forward to hearing how you like it on those camping trips, great looking knife, thanks for the comparison shots!

Hi kmj153 -

Thank you for the pictures and review -

I too used to enjoy my ESEE Izula - and a great knife it was - but I gifted it to a friend, as my JK's have filled the role that the Izula filled and then some!

John has never taken the credit for his leather working skills that is due, but he enjoys the muted recognition that simply exceeding customer expectations provides him.

Thanks again for the pics and observations - and I hope that, if you are near enough, you join us for a JK Gathering in the near future!

best

Sweet knife. Now get a Phoenix, a scandi EDC, a Rockywolf's Choice, a Rule #9, and a Knatchet and you will be all set! Seriously, do it.

Well, as funds permit.

Aww, just do whatever you want! Lol. Great pics and thanks for sharing!
