Just posting up a few shots I took today.
OAL - 8-7/8", Contoured Green micarta handle with red liners
Blade - 4-1/4", cutting edge - 4-1/6", 5/32" thick blade with rounded spine
Initial thoughts: THIS KNIFE IS AWESOME. The fit and finish on this is great, it feels great in the hand, and will handle anything you throw at it. I have to admit, I am sucked into the current theme of "hard use" knives, which is why I went with the 5/32" blade. Honestly, I could have gotten the 1/8" blade and the knife would still be just as tough (I am glad I didn't do 3/16"). It takes a good edge with my poor sharpening skills and sharpmaker rods.
I was worried that the sheath would not be able to hold the knife in securely, but is does, and I actually appreciate the simplicity of it.
I have just played around in my yard with a few sticks, sharpening them to a point and trying my hand at feather sticks (which I didn't know about until I joined the forum). I am going to take it with me on my annual camping trips in April and May. I should produce some good user shots then along with a good review.
For now I am just posting a few comparison shots with the ESEE4, my old favorite fixed blade. I appreciate when people post comparison shots so I thought I would share mine.
Thanks John! I have my eye on the EDC next.
