My very first Kershaw came in the mail today, and I am beyond impressed. The fit and finish are superb, and the blade is pretty sharp with a nice even grind. The knife is an all black Shallot. This is also my first experience with an assisted opener, and I'm thoroughly impressed. I've opened the Shallot about 6 times, and it's almost as fast as my issue Benchmade auto.

My 2nd Kershaw should be here in a few days; it's an all black Groove Tanto.

If the rest of Kershaw's knives are as good as this Shallot, Kershaw has to be the absolute best bang for buck knife manufacturer around. I am still shocked at how reasonably priced the knives are.

Welcome to the addiction! The shallot is a great knife.

I just got my a groove myself (the regular version), with a little bit of use and practice it will open just as fast as any AO. You should check out the Ener-G and Ener-G II, they have a very unique flipper system, very smooth and fast. The all black Ener-G II is one of my all time favorite knives.

Glad you like your Shallot, wulf:thumbup: There are some really cool variations of that knife floating around right now, such as the composite bladed ZDP-189 version and the CPM S110V version, which are both a limited run and should be grabbed while they're available.

Also, like Antihero said, the all black ENER-G II is one of my all time favorites!

They are and it is. :)

If you like the black Shallot, then you are going to love the Tanto Groove, which re-defines 'cool'.

Nice post, and very nice comments! I couldn't agree more. Kershaw is at the top of the heap when it comes to technology, innovations, materials and quality. You can't find better value!

And another vote for the ENER-G...I loves me ENER-G's!
