My first Kershaw

The other thread on the sharpest factory edge has piqued my interest in Kershaw. I've never carried Kershaw before, my collection is mainly Benchmades and Spydercos. I am thinking of trying out the Junkyard Dog II (composite blade) as an EDC. What do you think of it? Is it too bulky/heavy? Thanks!

It's an unkillable piece of awesomeness. Phenomenal ergos. Probably my favorite hard use folder, and I have much "tougher" knives to choose from. I would be shocked if you didn't like it.

The JYD II is a great knife. I wouldn't call it too big to carry, but for me it's boarder line (the G-10 Tyrade just crosses that boarder). Great ergos and a nice thick liner lock. I think you'll like it.

I've never had one, but you will not be disappointed with any Kershaw.

BTW, thank you for using "piqued" and not "peaked." That misuse annoys me on so many levels.

It's pretty heavy. I agree with all good things said about the JYD, but it's heavy. It's not something you can clip to your boxer.

5.2oz for a JYD II CB. I consider that light compared to my ZT 0301. ;)
To use as a reference Leeks are 2.4 to 3oz depending on model.

I love my JYD composite.....But it would get more carry time if it was 1/2 shorter closed length. I would love a small JYD with G-10 and CPM-D2. But the sadly the small JYD is going away, hopefully just for now. ;)
