It's a 15" Siripati. I'm not sure who made it. Kinda looks like Bura's mark but It looks more like a bowl with some steam coming out of it.

Very nicely done. No visible hammer marks etc. A little "goo" seems to have oozed from the bolster after assembly though.

The sheath is a little loose. I remember reading somewhere that to tighten a loose sheath one wets the leather with water. Is that correct? If so, how much?

It balances nicely and feels alive in the hand. Haven't cut anything with it yet though.

Me likes it... me wants another

...but if the "steam" is S-shaped, with little chisled "rays" around the S , you have a blade by the Kami(s) with no name(s). These guys, together or seperately (no one is sure, and they won't tell Uncle) make fine blades. I have an AK, a Malla, and a WWII, and would not hesitate to have another of his/their's/thems - in any combination :D

Bruise, you might want to try a wet towel around the scabbard for 30 minutes and then let it dry and see what you get.

You got one made by kami with no name. Actually,
Bura's mark is supposed to be a cresent moon but it is sometimes hard to tell the difference between it and KNN's mark with no "steam". But if you examine the knife closely and see absolutely no irregularities although marks are similar you can bet it is made by Bura. He seldoms stutters.

I got two by the Kami with no name and they are both first rate. What have you got your eye on next?

I think he's been infected. :D Bruise, what are you thinking of getting next?

My 12" AK made by the KNN is currently my favorite but with a 15" Sirupati coming from Uncle Uncle Bill, it might not stay there for long. :)

Remember, that 15 inch Sirupati has been used for 2 or 3 years and has a cracked handle. It's going to take some TLC to get it back to top shape.

What next? hmmm... dunno. So many choices, so few dollars. Especially with the wonderful Canadian peso being so low now.

Perhaps something to hang by the bedpost. Any suggestions? At what length does the balance point of the khuk get to long as to make it clumsy?

Or something a little more traditional WW2, BAS, or AK. I doubt I could go wrong in getting one of those more popular items.

And no. I don't have the much talked about HIKV. I'm merely stocking up to fight international terrorism.

I love the used look and feel. Besides, this is becoming a fun hobby or should I say addiction? :D

hehe... I'm tempted. I'll see what kind of funding I have when I get home from work. :D Maybe I'll go without food for a few weeks.

The absolute (IMO) bedpost khukuri is the Chitlangi.... or my little DIY full curved hammer dingy finished Chainpuri style, but those aren't readily available.:p ;) :D

If one is concerned about the length being unwieldy in confined areas get the 18" Chitlangi. I haven't had the pleasure of handleing an 18", but if the balance is comparable to its longer sister it has to be awesome!!!!!!!
IMO this model khukuri is faster than the Sirupati in comparable lengths while the Chainpuri style handle gives it a lot more retention.
And with the speed it generates giving the tip of the knife more mass it cuts like a much heavier khukuri.
Perfect to combat home invasion terrorism or any other kind as it is able to remove appendages in the manner approved by the ones who initiate the terrorism to begin with.
An attacker could lose their head when faced with a person in pure self defense mode armed with this khukuri.:D

You guys are going to lead me down the road to financial ruin. :D

At least I'll have some fancy cutlery when I move into the poor house.

As I have said before "listen to Yvsa":)

When I get up the cash (ok when I stop sinking all my money into the vast black-hole that is my photography business:D )the Chitlangi is the next blade with out a doubt!

Yes, Yvsa always has some good information to give. I was looking at that siripati blem but I figured I'd wait and save up for a chit.

Maybe after that BAS uncle was talking about :D

You guys have to stop and realize that not only am I spoiled rotten by the best lady in the world for me.... I also have a small
advantage.;-)
And that advantage ties in with my wife who has me spoiled rotten, it also ties in with the _small_ extra income, y'all don't know about, I have coming in each month to do with whatever I want , just because my sweet wife says I've earned it.
Now y'all know why I'm so spoiled.:-)

And I still don't have it all saved up although I'm gettin' close.:)
I definitely Want one of these Smokin' Pros with all the bells and whistles before it's too late.

That smokin' pro looks pretty difficult to sharpen. Which kami made it?

Sorry, one track mind.:D

Can you imagine the kamis looking at the Smokin Pro and all of them thinking in unison. "Nice Forge!!!!":D

Now the question is which khukuri to use for the tender BBQ?:D:D
