My first kit knife

This is my first post and also the first kit knife I have made. I did it for my sister to give to her husband on his birthday. Bubinga handle stock came from my dad (who does intarsia) mosaic pis and kit from TKS, I used a thin chainsaw file for the filework on the nickel guard.

That's ok. I know each person has their own taste. I was trying to do something original and I like it. I have read the tutorial that Wally Hayes did in Blade Magazine on filework and hope to try something different on my next knife. It was my second try at filework. Thanks for your honesty and compliment on the rest!
 
That is a great looking knife, except for the file work. I think it takes away from the rest of the knife.
 
Yeah, I'd say that the filework definitely takes away from the knife. But it looks good nonetheless!
