Hello, everyone! This is my first knife in 52100 steel, it was a commission project made a while ago. It was very interesting using a new steel which I was planning to use for a long time. the knife itself was pretty challenging because of how thin the blade is since the idea was to make a very agile fighting bowie. The guard has spheres sculpted in each point which were another challenge.

Knife specs:
Blade 9" made from 52100 steel
OAL 14"
Handle is Imbuia burl
Sheath is cow leahter

Hope you like it!

Excellent craftsmanship in all details!

How do you get the satin finish absolutely straight right from the plunge line?
Thank you, Philip! After I make sure there is only 800 grit scratches on the blade I start sanding straight back and forth with a hard sanding stick, this gives me a good base for the final satin, then I get another sanding stick with a rubber pad and give a few passes from the plunge to the tip just to smooth it out. Reaching that finish is a lot of work and patience

To get satin lines as truly parallel to the spine as that, I'd need to rig a guide, and make sure it's not at the end of a long day... Great job! The flats, curves and transitions on the guard and the work on the ferrule are also a show of skills and time... Unusual to see this level on a knife.
