My first knife modifications...

started with polished titanium clip from the amazing Casey Lynch.
Etched it and anodized it blue-purple-blue... (my first anodization ever).

Started with standard Delica 4...

Did a heavy stone wash on the blade... I like it much more...

This is exactly how it starts! Many years ago, I started with these same types of mod projects. By trying more & more you will naturally increase your knowledge & skill level. Today I make custom knives, build & work on firearms, reload and build my own machine tools, like belt grinder, electric-chemical marking/etching, heat treat oven, etc.

Don't ever stop, or think something is above your skill level. If you want to do something, get on line and LEARN! Teach yourself. This is how I have learned everything I do.

I appreciate that a lot... That's how I naturally am. I pick something up and learn as much as I can about it...

I'm already moving on to my next level of anodization... will post pics when done.
 
That looks really good. I like your choices on which colors go where. Did you do this yourself?
