Here's the first one finished out of the shop for 2025. W2 with hamon, fossil walrus, and battleship Texas steel. I chose the ship steel because I knew it etches gray and looks nearly sandblasted. I wanted matte fittings.

I did a big oosic/hamon bowie a few years back. Takes a special piece of oosic to make bowie sized.Coolio, would love to see this blade in oosic.

My understanding is that fossilized walrus is all good, except in a couple of states. Freshly harvested walrus is highly regulated.A naive question:
What are limits and allowances on Walrus tusk ivory as they appliy to knife making and knife ownership?
I know enough to be very timid about it.
