These two knives were my first serious knives(not counting a Gerber Bear Grylls that was a spur of the moment purchase) and I'd figure I'd do a blind review on them, as I have no way of doing pictures. I think I'll start of with my first knife, the SAK GolfTool.
SAK GolfTool Speci's(from Smoky Mountain K nife Works/Vic's website):
Stainless steel blade and tools
·1-7/8" blade length
·Translucent sapphire composition handle
·Retractable one-handed divot repair tool
·Removable ball marker
·Tee punch / groove cleaner / bottle opener / nail file
·Scissors
·Toothpick
·Tweezers
·2-1/4" blade
·Thickness: 1/16"
·Width: 5/16"
·3-9/16" closed
·Black nylon sheath
·Made in Switzerland
I got this a few years ago when I was thirteen got the blue one, very good quality knife and tools, a very nice first knife, although, given it's highly specific nature, I would like to add another SAK to my collection, but that's a different post. I use this on the course RELIGOUSLY I never have to carry 1000 things any more as it takes the place of every accesory a golfer needs, it does not look bad in the pockets of nice pressed cargo/khaki shorts either, but it wouldn't have a place in a suit(save that for an another SAK or even an Opinel) but for what it's worth and brings to the table it's a highly valued tool. Normally they go for $50.00 with a gift box with other assorted items, including a sleeve of golf balls with the Victorinox logo, but I got mine for $30 as SMKW had a huge Victorinox sale that weekend, the things were going like hot cakes! So all in all she's a beuaty of a first knife and I'd highly recommend it to golfers and even non golfers alike! As the tee punch/file/groove cleaner can be used for loads of other purposes, I even used it to clean out the liners of my other knife, my Buck Bantam BLW! Great first knife for me and someone wanting to fall down this slippery slope!
Regards,
Nick
