Well, I've been trying new things lately. Frame handles, takedowns, you know... This time I sent out a knife for engraving. Never done that before. This knife is a one-off small clip point pattern with a CM154 stainless blade and a 416 stainless slotted guard. Blade is full flat ground, 400 grit hand finish. Handle material is stabilized redwood burl. The guard was engraved by Paul Markow of Georgia. OAL is 7 9/16 with a 3 7/16 blade. Sheath is my work as well.

Paul has done some great work for guys like Osborne and Baskett, among others. I'd not hesitate to recommend him.

Nice design Jason. I like the way you transitioned the ricasso with the blade edge. Pretty knife.

Jason, it's a nice looking knife. However, as a collector I must say it was difficult to get past the dirt in the close up photo. When I opened it here and in the sales forums, that is what struck me. I apologize for posting it because I understand that most people only post positive comments. This knife deserves those comments. However, I feel if we can't share honest opinions it doesn't do much good. In this case, the engraving looks very well done but has what appears to be debris inside, which is distracting the quality of the work. Same with the dirt along the plunge line and bolster. Again, the fit and finish looks good but the photos make the knife looked used. 20 seconds with a tooth brush would make all the difference in the appearance of this knife IMHO.

You're absolutely right, mwschilling. What's the line from the Princess Bride... "If you rush a miracle, you get a rotten miracle." I got in a hurry last night as I was running out of light. Took it straight from the sheath and shot some pics.

I'm all for honesty.
