Hello,
I will start to present my knifes in the US blade forum. I will go back in the past and present them in the sequence I have made them.
So this is the first knife I ever made, I worked on it over the course of several months and got it finished in March 2009. It is pretty much hand made, I used a hand held band sander that I clamped to my work bench, and of course files and a lot of sandpaper.
Here are some data:
Steel: Multilayer Japanese Steel, with the core layer white paper steel (no idea if this is the English expression) The steel is not stainless and provided a nice sharp edge
Handle: Stabilized maple and red fiber
Guard and cap: Copper, and nickel-silver
The overall length is 225 mm (8.8 )
Length of blade is 125 mm (about 5 )
Weight 326 g (11.5 oz)
The scabbard if nothing to be proud of, I had the wrong leather and also not the right tools.
Of course I still have this one. Who gives away the first knife.
I hope you like it, comments are always welcome.
Regards
Roland
