I wanted to do something real simple for my first blade. This is what some would call a Bushcraft knife. Very moderate blade length(4-5in) and OAL. Thickness is 3/16ths. Material Aldo 1084 treated to 56HRC. Handle material is brown micarta that I made from a real dark pair of pants and Bondo fiberglass resin. I hand sanded the blade with 220 grit and put a convex edge on it with a slacked 220 grit belt. I stropped the bur off with a paper sharpening wheel. Hair whittling sharp. I just did a simple kydex sheath and have yet to devise a belt attachment solution. I'm gonna try and learn how to work leather soon as I really like the look more. I just need to figure out where to get it.

I'm happy with how it came out but obviously see things that can be improved. I learned a good amount making this one. Again, I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel here. I like simple, straight forward designs done well, so that's my goal. Without further ado(sorry for potato cam pics):

Thanks! Pins are stainless steal. I didn't peen them though. I used West Systems 30min epoxy. I also learned a little trick where you cut a notch or two in the middle of the pin and it acts as a mechanical lock with the epoxy. We'll see.

Looks great.Just started to make micarta.Put some zombie green scales on a dagger.Tandy leather will help you get started on sheaths.Another source was weaver leather .
