My First Knife

I finally finished my first knife. Made with D2 steel, blade is just under 3.5" in length. I made some mistakes in the process, but am very pleased with the results. I plan on making more knifes in the future!



 
Awesome! I am finishing the scales on my first "good" knife also in d2. Something about d2 I find really attractive, maybe its the roughness of it, not quite stainless and all a bit aggressive. I have a couple small knives I have sketched on the scraps and contemplated the next piece of steel and even though its not the easiest to work I think I'll stay with d2 because not only do I just have a strange affinity for it but figure getting good with a tougher one will help out when the steels an easier variety. Keep up the great work and hopefully mine come out as good!
 
Yep, ide be proud of that as well. It looks great and if its sharp and you enjoy using it then thats all you can ask for!
