Nice design. I like the way the handle compliments the blade. Nice hammon too. Great job. You're on the way now! Enjoy the ride, cause there is no cure!

Alright! You are on your way. Its good you used materials and techniques that will stand up to scrutiny forever..ie classical. Now just meet the challenge and never sell or have this, your first knife, stolen. I used micarta becasuse I thought it was the ultimate custom material for my first knife. Its still my faVORITE, but now I know natural materials have a wider appeal and for good reason. Its really fun to see exactly what you've got as you polish it down. HAve more fun now, you will have the best collection of your knives then anyone for awhile..at least as far as sheer amount goes. Thats what I have experienced anyway.
I also kept my first knife. It will be an inspiration to you latter as you progress.
That is a good first effort. There is a nice flow to it. I like the functional approach you took. Let's see the next one. Fred
Sorry my peoples... I have not been at the computer in awhile . Please do not think that all I was doing was fishing for compliments, but instead I like the constructive critisim " it helps me strive to do better". Last but not least I want to say Thank You for all the kind words on my first blade .
Wish my first looked that good Nice shape, looks like a good palm skinner shape. The only thing I would change would be a little higher on the quench line, but that is subjective and varies from maker to maker. I realy like the wood and that handle looks like it would be real comfortable.
Yes, sir, that little rascal looks really good! I wish I still had my first knife, but a fella with some green folding paper wanted it. I would say you are really off and running with your knives.
