I wasn't sure where to post this, I'm just pretty excited. If there is a better place to put this let me know.

I finally finished my first ever knife and just wanted to show it off. Please feel free to critique it, I CAN handle the truth. I know the blade can use a bit more sanding, I only took it to 400 grit.

Blade is O1 (FFG), scales are Bocote, liners are vulcanized paper, Pins are SS

Looks nice, keep up the great work!

Does the notch in the blade (spanish notch) extend into the grind? I like to put mine at the end of the grind to help with sharpening. I just can't tell, it looks like a cool design no matter what.

It looks great!

Like you said it could use a bit more sanding i see scratches in all directions from the photos. Also wondering if the spanish notch hits the edge or not like daniel asked.
Looks pretty darn good though.

Looks good, especially for a first! A suggestion is to get all the scratches going in one direction, rite now I see every which way. The basic design could use a little refinement, but that's in the eye of the beholder. I like the overall shape, just think the handle needs a bit of tweaking, looks kinda blocky, but that may just be the photo's. It's too late, your hooked now!

The edge does go all the way to the notch. I still need to chose and angle and set a proper edge, this edge was just quickly done on the belt. I'm considering this a "prototype" for now...I'm just happy that I found a new hobby, I love being out in the shop!

Looks good!!
When your grinding those ss pins go real easy, i keep em as short as possible, and will file them down before hitting them on the grinder, it looks like theyve got a little halo around them, could be the pic? again great job and welcome to the fun!!

You made yourself a nice knife. How about a tube in the lanyard hole? I think I would round off the back-top of the handle a little more, working the rounded area more into the flat portion on top. You did good!

I think it looks good, the only suggestion I would make would be the ones that others mentioned. Finer sanding, and keep the lines going in the same direction. Otherwise, I think it looks great!
