So the other day TexasTony (aka Mr. Bad Influence) sends me a link to check out his new Survivor and sheath. Looked fantastic, as always Dan but looking at the other pics I see a small blade that looked perfect!
"Tony, what the heck is that!"
"Aw Man, that's the W&SS necker. Great little blade, there's one on the exchange right now." (Remember the bad Influence part.)
Well, long story short, 2 hours later it was in the mail to me thanks to my lovely and talented wife and Tony.
I had seen the blueprint graphics of the knife at it's inception and frankly didn't care for it. Kephart style blade and skeletonized handle didn't do it for me but, in pics, with scales it's amazing. Sorry to be so behind the curve on this one, I know it's old news, but new to me and I love it!
I guess this was a blem, it had a large nick in the spine. First thing I thought when I saw it was "firesteel notch", and within an hour of it arriving, I had the dremel out, cleaning up and sharpening that nick. It fires off a massive shower of sparks due to the increased contact with the firesteel. Perfect mistake Dan, thanks.
And now I have a trade thread up looking to pick up a bushcrafter......or a nessie......
Just what I needed, another addiction.
