My first Le Thiers just arrived!

Maybe you can remember this post about the misaligned pins of Shepherd's Cross on my first Laguiole knife.
I still decided to made another order my first Le Thiers.

Similar "good" luck - some "imperfections", but better - at least I can accept them.
Scratches visible when the blade is closed:

Impurity pressed under the scale? (I didn't consider it belongs to the raw material since it's on the inside of the handle, not the surface, so it looked like something got pressed between the metal and horn tip handle.)

the impurity is visible on the scale as light color area is more than dark color in my one. (If dark color is more, then it's almost not visible.)
(Other than Wabi-Sabi😅) any comments / words can help me ease the "pain"? I know I won't return it, but just feeling something about this visible "tiny" issue.🥺

All the rests are good! Overall, like it (though really hope a prefect one)
Thanks Z Zeroedin for your photos and replies in another post, so that I decide to have it.

It's made of Horn, a once living, growing thing with a beast attached to it...the spot looks like something the actual owner may have generated whilst goring something, rubbing it against trees, clashing horns with another comrade etc. Similar to gashes that can be seen on antler, imperfections such as knots in wood.

You have a very fine looking Thiers there, one anybody would be proud to own

Once again, Thank you Will Power! What my point is, as long as it's not a defect or something mixed during the process, as you said, just something on the scale material itself, that's fine.

As Will Power Will Power said , you have a beautiful knife there . If you are obsessing over perceived imperfections like that small speck in Natural Material , you will Never get a Perfect knife, especially if the covers are Stag . I hope that you enjoy your new knife and carry it in good health .
You have a beauty there my friend .

That's a beauty. I have the same knife in boxwood. Kind of a "safe queen" for me--too pretty to use!

Nice knife! I've got a few of them, and have been happy with them. I wouldn't worry about that spot. Any natural material can have small imperfections.

Thank you Harry and Peregrin! As long as it's something belongs to the raw material instead of processing issue, that's completely fine!
At the beginning I didn't consider it belongs to the raw material since the piece (spot) is on the inside of the handle, not the surface, so it looked like something got pressed between the metal and horn tip handle.

I need to make some study to understand the "safe queen" and "cigar box queen"😬
Well, "safe queen" just refers to a knife a collector buys to admire, but not use. Maybe an investment. I am not a collector, I am an accumulator. I have never sold a knife (nothing wrong with that, of course), but I have given a few away. I used the term "cigar box queen" because I keep my knives loose in several cigar boxes. No display cases or anything fancy. I just like knives. :)

Thank you Prester, a new learn to me 😃
Then I may be between collector and accumulator ;) , I think that's why once a new knife arrives, I carefully check everything and notice any flaw. Most knives I purchased are for collecting.
When handling this Le Thiers, my hands feel a little better than Laguiole, so, maybe I'll use this one as real EDC, (and purchase another Le Thiers, maybe in-line lock model for collection)🤣

D Dextar We all have our reasons when we buy a knife. Whether it be as a collector's piece or as an every day tool. Your Le Thiers is quite handsome and if it were mine, I'd probably spend most of my time admiring its beauty and photographing it. I would definitely bring it out on those occasions when a fine meal would deserve a special knife. Enjoy!

Thank you Alan! 🤜🤛

Blonde horn tips are not what they used to be, origins are different and zebus (Brazil left the place to South West Africa) or buffalos (formerly Brazil then Viet Nam, now India) have probably not received the same care and forage, hence less shiny and less homogeneous, colors are less contrasted.
Same happens with stag antlers.
FP certainly choosed the best quality they could get and did a fine job from what is available these days.

Thanks for the further explanation that make me have more understanding. (especially the images linked to, I have much clear view about the raw material and why the spot is there)
I expected to have similar texture and color (dark more than light) as Zeroedin posted, now I know the color and texture vary (different to buffalo horn, seems almost all dark color? at least in all of the knives I have)

All of your comments are very helpful!
