I posted this on the Busse page then I found this sheath page. Here is my very first leather project that didn't include super glueing my kids shoes back together! I bought a kydex sheath for my new battle mistress. What I didn't like about it was that the knife is a little heavy and when turned upside down and given a little shake, the knife comes out. So I thought I would make a hybrid sheath. Still has the retention of the kydex (a little more because I stitched the leather up past the tension screw), but it now has a snap strap at the handle. I kept the screw holes so I could use a teklok to strap it to my pack. The kydex is sandwiched inside of the leather. Whatcha think?

Well, what I think is that you did VERY good job. I just don't get to see that much quality on "first time" projects very often.

Thanks all! I definitely took my time (about 2 weeks) trying to figure it out and browsing websites for ideas and "how to's". Most of ya'll are masters of the art and it's definitely lit a fire to do other projects. I know that I have to do some practicing with my forming and take my time with the former/slicker tool. I have a small fortune in leather tools now that need a small crevice in the workshop--Maybe a leather roll up with tool pockets. Its like with most thing I haven't tried, The hard part---is starting it.
