I thought you guys might like this one. It is my first attempt and I know the next one will be better.

Here is a closer pic of the ugly side of the stitching. I was using a hand drill and a really flexible bit. It got to walking on me. I will be using a drill press for future projects. This is 8-10 oz. veg tanned cowhide by the way. MtMike gave me all the guidance I needed for this one.

Very nice... especially for a first time out.

Congratulate your SJ on his new pants for me.:D

Yeah, I am pretty surprised at how well it turned out. When I am sufficiently happy with my abilities, I will be more than happy to throw my name into the sheath making pool for my fellow INFI Hogs. Right now all I can promise you is Kydex as I am fairly comfortable in that arena. :D The more I thin about it the more I am keaning toward a sheath for the Anorexic Badgers that will be on their way soon. How about a combo? Let's say ABA and a PH. That would make a nice hunting set up. Now I won't get any sleep with all of these ideas in my head, that and the voices. :D

I wish my first time had been as good. You have some natural talent there .

 That is fantastic for your first time!!!! That's good for your twentieth!!

The stitching is very straight and even and finish looks really nice!

May I ask, how are you finishing the edges?

Many thanks for the kind words fellas. I am really liking the leather work.

Andrew,

I used Gum Tragacanth and just hand burnished them with a smooth object (I think I used a large barreled highlighter). My next one is going to be better, I can feel it already and there aren't even any plans drawn up. :D

Good work there buddy!:D I thought I saw the MtMike influence at first glance. Dont worry about the crooked stitching on the back, even the drill press will do that on occasion. You've got a great start there, and it only gets better! And yes, the voices dont ever stop, better listen.....one time they screamed at me non stop for a week untill I finally got Alphas pin lock sheath done!! Now they are screaming again for me to finally get to the tutorials on the pin lock to a couple guys here:o Heh, see I havent forgotten you!! Its ready to go, I just gotta get going!

Cool! Another leather semi-convert!! We are winning, slowly winning!:D

Come back from the Dark Side Brother
Dang you Darth Leatherman

realy nice job :)

David,

Don't worry, I have way too much kydex sitting out in the garage to give that up. :D

Pretty Good!! My first, I laced up with leather and the knife ended up falling through the bottom of it.

As soon as the INFI fairy dumps my load of Anorexic Badgers in my lap (oh that could be painful), I will get cracking one one for them.

Thanks again for the kind words.
